Here’s how to do it:
FTH’s “Lazy Gourmet” Tilapia Filets With Couscous
- 1 cup dry whole-grain couscous
- 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
- 4 4-oz tilapia filets
- 2 large red tomatoes
- 1 small zucchini
- 1 small yellow squash
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp salt (to taste)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 medium lemon
For the couscous:
1) Prepare couscous by bringing broth to a boil. Add couscous, remove heat, cover with lid, let sit.
2) Fluff before serving.
For the fish:
1) Preheat the oven to 400-F. Grab four 12”x12” pieces of aluminum foil and set them aside. Slice the tomatoes, zucchini, and yellow squash into bite-sized pieces, then place onto foil.
2) Top the vegetables with a piece of fish, then season with garlic, salt, and pepper. Add 1-2 slices of lemon per packet, then fold the foil closed.
3) Place each foil packet onto a baking sheet. Cook for 15-20 minutes, until veggies and fish are tender. Serve with couscous.
How This Delicious Recipe Can Help You Burn Off Stubborn Fat…
The first time I tried this recipe, I was totally blown away by the amazing flavor you get from such a simple recipe!
It really tastes like it came from a gourmet restaurant… and I don’t know about you, but I don’t really associate gourmet cooking with health food.
But when I dug into the nutrition content on this recipe just a little bit… I was pleasantly surprised at how great this recipe is for you! (And hey, gourmet food should be health food!)
To start with, the tilapia has a whopping 23 grams of protein (and that’s in just one filet!).
This single point really piqued my interest… because I also recently found out that eating more protein can actually help you lose weight faster. (So a second helping might actually make you get slimmer… just saying.)
That’s because of how your body processes the protein. In fact, one study found that people who increased their protein intake by a meager 15-30% burned an average of 441 more calories the next day!
So the more protein you eat, the more calories you burn! (Sounds like a win to me—eat more to lose more, yay! Now that I can do.)
And with delicious recipes like this simple, gourmet-tasting tilapia… it won’t be hard at all to increase your protein intake.
