It’s yogurt!

Did you know that yogurt can be really good for weight loss?
I know! The good stuff just keeps on coming!
TRENDING: Science Reveals Easy, No-Workout Ways to Lose Weight… While You Snooze!Weight loss, of course, occurs when you operate at a calorie deficit… so your body stops storing fat and starts to burn it. So, what you eat really matters, and yogurt is one example of a great food for this!
Yogurt is broken down slowly, which means that you are more likely to feel fuller for longer, according to this research from Harvard.
Why is it broken down slowly? Because something like plain yogurt, for example, is made up of a lot of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Protein is the one that usually is broken down pretty slowly.

Yogurt & Probiotics
Perhaps the best part of yogurt is that it’s full of probiotics! We’ve talked about this before, but let’s do a little recap.

How To Choose The Right Yogurt For Weight Loss
Now, I know you’re getting more into this whole yogurt thing. But there are SO MANY different kinds of yogurt!
How are you supposed to know which ones are the best? Are they all the same?
I’m here to help (being the yogurt expert). Here are a few simple guidelines to follow when you choose a yogurt:
1) Pick low-sugar yogurts.
Some yogurts can have pesky hidden sugars in them. You don’t want that! Those hidden sugars can be a cause of belly fat.
A lot of times, this sugar can be found in flavored yogurts (that’s how they get you!). So, try to pick low-sugar yogurts… or better yet, just pick plain yogurt!
Even though plain might seem boring, you can put soooo many delicious things in yogurt to make it fun and tasty. Fruits, almonds, berries, and granola are just some of the many ingredients you can top plain yogurt with!
2) Greek yogurt is great for weight loss.
Nonfat plain Greek yogurt is maybe one of the best kinds of yogurt for weight loss. It has double the protein of regular yogurt and half of the sugar!

3) Find low-fat yogurts.
There are so many different kinds of yogurt out there, which makes picking from this list really easy. Just look for the ones with that helpful “low-fat” sign!
Low-fat yogurts can be a better choice if you’re trying to lose weight… because they won’t add any extra unnecessary calories!
Perhaps my very favorite part about yogurt is that there are just so many options. It can be really boring sometimes to just eat the same foods over and over again. With yogurt, you never have to worry about this!
And, even if you DO like one particular kind of yogurt, it’s cool… because you can get a little wild with your toppings!
Yogurt is also pretty good for your wallet. With so many options, it’s easy to find one that will fit within your budget.
Looking to get a little extra wild? You can even use yogurt to make a healthy smoothie in the morning!

The Surprising Science Behind Greek Yogurt & Weight Loss…
If you’ve read all the way through this piece… there’s probably one word you’ve noticed popping up more than anything else:
And that’s because eating enough protein is absolutely essential if you want to lose weight and keep it off, in a way that really lasts.[1]
Eating more protein can:
- Help you feel fuller for longer…
- Decrease your cravings for sugary, fatty foods [2]…
- And as a matter of fact, if you eat enough of it… it can even supercharge your metabolism, and allow you to burn hundreds more calories in a day than you otherwise would (but more on that in a sec).
Which makes Greek yogurt a GREAT choice for breakfast, or even a late-night snack… because a typical 6-ounce serving contains 15-20 grams of protein (the same as 2-3 ounces of lean meat)… and just 100 calories.
But I know… eating plain yogurt every single day can get kind of boring… (and if you aren’t used to eating plain yogurt, fighting the urge to dump an entire bottle of honey on it can be *pretty* difficult… speaking from experience, haha!)
The good news is you don’t have to just eat plain yogurt! You can eat all kinds of protein-rich foods… and still lose just as much as weight.
As a matter of fact, a recent study found that by adding this specific amount of protein to your diet, you can burn an extra 441 calories the next day.
And this includes protein from sources like lean meats and fish, eggs, beans, seeds, and even cheese(!).
So if you’d like to know exactly how much protein to eat… plus a couple more surprising secrets that can boost your metabolism and help you reach your weight loss goals (while still enjoying delicious foods, and spending your free time doing what YOU want to do… instead of in the gym)…
